VIDEO: Preventing Auto Injury with Head Restraints
There are steps that you can take to protect yourself from whiplash injury as a result of an auto collision. The key to good protection is your head restraint. Unfortunately, most people have an improperly adjusted head restraint.
To properly position your head restraint, be sure to do the following:
- Set head restraint height to where the back of your head is at the center of the restraint.
- Position your seat back to where your head restraint is within 2.5 inches of the back of your head.
While car crashes are usually out of your control, you can properly adjust your head restraint to reduce your odds of neck injury.
